Union-Endicott Tigers: 58
The Chenango Valley girls’ varsity basketball team lost to the Union-Endicott Tigers 53-58 Friday night. It was CV’s home and season opener for the 2007-2008 year. The Warriors trailed the whole game, mostly due to (Saint Rose bound) Adrianna Gaeta’s numerous 3-pointers in the first half to set up an early U-E lead, 29-23. However, CV’s defense tightened up, and their offense took over in the paint in the second half. Demetra Kermidas took things into her own hands finishing 7/8 with 15 points and leading CV in rebounds. The Warriors fought back in the fourth quarter gaining points on steals and turnovers. Leading scorers for Chenango Valley were: Demetra Kermidas - 15, Stephanie Hoffman - 15, Cait Roberts - 9. The Warriors host the Windsor Black Knights this Friday in the House of Rock.
