CHENANGO VALLEY WARRIORS: 42
ELMIRA SOUTHSIDE GREEN HORNETS: 13

This is Chenango Valley football.

On Homecoming Saturday – the same day that Class B was shocked by Oneonta’s surprise win over the ‘evil empire’ – the Chenango Valley Warriors (the good guys) convincingly beat Class A Elmira Southside 42-13. Five different Warriors scored a total of six times for the home crowd – four by run, one by pass, and one kickoff return to the house.

Junior Devin Carroll led the offense with 126 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a big game coming off last week’s disappointing trip to Norwich. Offense, defense and special teams all were crisp – classic Valley football. It appears that CV now has the team unity and confidence that wasn’t always present in the first three games this season. It’s only one game, but it’s a huge step in the right direction for CV.

Let’s be real here. This win was against a 1-3 team whose only win came off of dismal Susquehanna Valley. But it was a blowout like it should have been if CV has some talent.

Chenango Valley can only look ahead. That means Windsor…this should be fun.

GO WARRIORS
