Warriors tame Dryden

Win makes it 3-0 for CV, is Forks next? Chenango Valley High School – 9/16/06 Everyone is talking about it. CV having a winning season? It’s the big question on everyone’s minds as the Warriors beat the Dryden Lions 36-18 Saturday. This win keeps CV in first place in the STAC Section 4 Division III (B) standings. However, If you ask any Warrior student or fan, they will tell you that the only game that matters all season is the well anticipated (and sometimes dreaded) Chenango Forks match. Normally, the Valley vs. Forks game attracts students, teachers, and parents from both districts hoping to see their team win. In the past for most CV fans, seeing the Warriors just get a touchdown against the State Champ Blue Devils has been exciting enough. This year, a lot is riding on the shouders of the R.T.L. squad as they keep winning more and more games. Next week for the Homecoming game, CV faces off against Oneonta. September 30th brings the Blue Devils into the valley to see if they can humiliate them again, or if maybe, just maybe the Warriors will win, and life will be good on this side of the river.
