Warriors 4-0

CV flawless in 28-0 win against Oneonta.                                                                                            Chenango Valley High School – 9/23/06                                                                                                                                                    Chenango Valley High School has proved that football can be exciting in the valley. The Warriors shutout the Oneonta Yellowjackets 28-0 Saturday, just in time for CV Homecoming. Nick Dadamio led the team with two touchdowns and 95 yards receiving. After the defense held strong in the first quarter, Matt Mullins and the offense scored twice on a 70 yard Mullins-Dadamio pass, and a 56 yard punt return by Trevor Cola. In the third quarter, CV got on the scoreboard again with Nick Dadamio scoring again with a 4 yard reception. The defense came back to help the team again with Matt Schaffer recovering Oneonta quarterback Brandon Southard’s fumble deep in Yellowjacket’s territory. This win makes it 4-0 overall for Chenango Valley, and 1-0  in league play. Next week, the most anticipated game of the season takes place when the Chenango Forks Blue Devils face off against the Warriors in the bitter CF vs. CV rival game. Chenango Valley has not won against Forks in twelve years. However, Chenango Valley football has not been this strong in a long time, and many on the team feel that the Saturday, September 30th game will be one to watch. As the cool fall air makes it’s way into Chenango Valley High School, the Warriors will have to not only overcome a fierce rivalry, but also a Section 4 champion team. Make sure to attend this Saturday’s game, it will be one exciting match-up.
