Overtime, but not enough time for Warriors

By Jared Kraham | The Warrior ReportSports Overtime on WBNG may have said that “Chenango Valley was the big winner in this one,” but it couldn’t be farther from the truth. In their first home game of the season, the Warriors lost to the Susquehanna Valley Sabers 89-78. After a the fourth quarter ended in a 67-67 tie, overtime came with the Sabers staying on top.

At points during the game, the Warriors had more than ten points on Susquehanna Valley, but when it counted, the Sabers rallied and overcame a tenacious Warrior defense. The leading scorer for Chenango Valley was Seth Mohney who had 22 points, five assists, and eight rebounds. Chris Mack scored 20 points, and Matt Mullins finished the night with 17. The M-M-M boys combined to score 59 points, about 76% of the Warriors points for the night.

This loss makes CV 1-1 for the season, and they travel to Windsor this Friday to battle the Black Knights.Windsor beat Susquehanna Valley 55-43 on November 23, and this season currently stand 1-2, loosing to both Seton and Sidney.

This Friday’s game is at Windsor High School and game time is scheduled for 7:45.
