Warriors win, Cola 3 TDs

Section 4 Class B Semi-final:
Chenango Valley Warriors (8-1) – 26

Waverly Wolverines (8-1) – 7

“The name Trevor Cola may be boldfaced with an asterisk or two attached on Wolverines scouting reports.”
– Press & Sun-Bulletin’s Kevin Stevens on the CV-Waverly game.

Kevin Stevens was right. Trevor Cola had 3 touchdowns in the Chenango Valley Warriors’ slaughter of the Waverly Wolverines on a cool and very wet Friday night. The Warriors now advance to the Section 4 finals, where they will play the winner of the other semi-final game: Owego vs. Chenango Forks. The Warriors improve to 8-1 on the year, and further prove that they are the team to beat in Class B. On this rainy Friday night, with the CV student fan section supporting (also outnumbering Waverly), the Chenango Valley Warriors Refused to Lose.

CV recovers for the win

Chenango Valley Warriors
(7-1): 14
Oneonta Yellowjackets (1-7): 0

With a fumble, two interceptions, three missed chances to score, and a scoreboard that read 0-0, the Chenango Valley Warriors varsity football team did not look great going into halftime. However in the third quarter, on the shoulders of Trevor Cola, the Warriors won the final game of the season. Cola ran for two touchdowns, separated by about five minutes for his 14th, and 15th TDs of the season. On the second-to-last play of the game, a game that celebrated the Chenango Valley seniors at their final game at Chenango Valley High School, the 5-10, 240 pound lineman Vince Palmieri received a hand off from Rocco Testani and ran 4-yards up the middle. A fitting end to a four year varsity career for the Warrior’s captain.
