CV: Owego, ohhhh no!

Chenango Valley Warriors: 46
Owego Free Academy Indians: 41

Yes, the CV sophomores are that good. The Chenango Valley Warriors girls’ varsity basketball team beat the Owego Free Academy Indians 46-41 Tuesday night at Chenango Valley High School. The tenacious 10th graders, led by Abby Harrington and her 14 points, ripped up the Owego defense, scoring 32/46 points for the night – about 70%. The other sophomore phenoms- Mikala King (12 points) and Caitlin Roberts (6 points) -both had a big nights on the court getting rebounds and keeping pressure on the ball. The game was tough for both teams, and going into halftime Owego led 18-19. The Warriors heated up in the second half, dropping two three-pointers (1 Roberts, 1 Harrington), scoring 12 in the third period. Owego went toe-to-toe with Valley, scoring 22 points of their own in the second half. However, due to Harrington’s 6/6 free throws (two of those a technical foul on Owego coach Scott Snyder), and a 12 point second half, the Warriors found a “W” in this tight game. The Warriors are now (5-2) overall and (4-1) in STAC play.
The Warrior Report Players of the Game:
