CV loses a tough one.

CV’s Chris Mack makes a pass.

Owego Free Academy Indians: 78
Chenango Valley Warriors: 68

Even with Matt Mullins’ 21 points, a come-from-behind win was not in the cards for Chenango Valley tonight. The Chenango Valley Warriors varsity boys’ basketball lost to the Owego Free Academy Indians 78-68 Wednesday night at Owego Free Academy High School. Chenango Valley was down the entire game – going into halftime the score was 37-27 Owego. The Warriors defensive attention was on Jack Keough (who’s averaging over 20 points per game) the whole night, however other Indians got into the action for Owego and built up some points. Supported by the “O-Zone” (Owego’s 6th man, ironically some touting cowboy hats), they held the Warriors to only 9 points in the third quarter. In the fourth, it seemed the Warriors found their game, rallying a total of 31 points. With 1:54 left in the game, it was 66-60 Owego after Tommy Hull and Matt Bobal owned the paint with a combined 14 points. However Jack Keough and Phil Arnold each made 2 foul shots peice soon after, and even after two beautiful long-rage three pointers from Matt Mullins, Owego won it by ten in the end. The Warriors are now (3-3).
