Warriors win, Seton next.

Chenango Valley Warriors: 57
Watkins Glen Senecas: 40

Matt Mullins had a quiet 28 points tonight…not. The Chenango Valley Warriors varsity boys’ basketball team beat the Watkins Glen Senecas 57-40 Saturday night at Chenango Valley High School in a Section 4 Class B quarter-final. The Warriors started out slow, but picked up after senior guard Matt Mullins began to tear up the net from three-point range, including a buzzer beating three from somewhere in Chenango Forks to end the third quarter. “I was just hitting, things started clicking,”said Mullins who is averaging 18.2 PPG.
The Warriors were shorthanded after Tommy Hull, who is averaging 11.9 PPG, sat for an ankle injury. However, quick ball movement and 18 steals led the Warriors to a victory over Watkins Glen. Mike Ball added 10 points and 14 crucial rebounds filling in for Hull. Chenango Valley faces Seton Catholic Central for a semi-final game set on Tuesday at a neutral location.
