After Seton scored two runs early in the first inning, Chenango Valley held tough and beat the Saints. The Chenango Valley Warriors varsity baseball team beat the Seton Catholic Central Saints 9-2 Wednesday at Chenango Valley High School. From the Press & Sun-Bulletin:
Derek Ferry and Vince Palmieri each had two-run hits in Chenango Valley’s five-run fourth inning as the Warriors overcame an early deficit en route to a 9-2 victory over visiting Seton Catholic Central in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday.CV (3-0 STAC, 4-0 overall) — which hosts unbeaten Oneonta (3-0, 3-0) in a 4:30 p.m. game Friday with first place in the Central Division on the line — trailed 2-0 entering the fourth inning.

However, Ferry’s two-run double tied the score at 2, and two batters later Palmeiri delivered a two-run single that put CV up 5-2.

Justin Topa later added a two-run single in a three-run fifth inning that put CV up 8-2.

Dan Pendleton gave up two runs and two hits in five innings to earn the victory for CV.

Seton CC took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Dan Gosney tripled in Nate Jones and later scored on a wild pitch.”
